UK Government’s celebration of the UK-India trade agreement

 Arvind Sabharwal, our Chair, was invited to attend the UK Government’s celebration of the UK-India trade agreement, where he had the opportunity to meet Jonathan Reynolds MP, Secretary of State for Business and Trade.

It was a significant political week for us, coinciding with the government’s announcement of a major investment by GB Energy in battery storage technology – which has made headlines in light of the £700m spend to curtail wind turbines.

This moment is a call to arms for the next wave of long-duration energy storage (LDES) technologies. While pumped hydro has played a valuable role, it lacks the speed, deployability, and efficiency needed for today’s energy landscape.

Batteries like the LiNa cell, which is pairs electrochemical efficiency and speed-of-deployment with domestic low cost raw materials offers an ideal solution to meet this challenge.

Having successfully piloted our technology in India last year, we’re excited to use our technology to tackle the enormous cost of renewable curtailment the UK is currently experiencing.
