Dr. Lauren Sammes joins LiNa Energy as Chief Technical Officer

We’re very excited to announce that Dr. Lauren Sammes has joined us as Chief Technical Officer.

Lauren has over 35 years’ experience in the fields of electrochemistry, fuel cells and electrolysers, green chemistry and hydrogen synthesis, storage and transport. She graduated from Imperial College, London, in Electrochemistry, and went on to work in academia at the University of Connecticut and the Colorado School of Mines, as a Full Professor doing research on fuel cells, batteries, electrolysis and green chemistry, with 7 US patents, 250+ journal publications and many keynotes.

Prior to joining LiNa Energy Lauren was the CTO and CSO of several small start-up companies, including a co-founder of an electrolysis company. She is an avid runner, and cannot go a day without a morning run – we’re looking forward to hearing about her new routes in the Lancashire countryside.

Lauren Sammes commented: “LiNa Energy’s mission to help the energy sector accelerate the transition to net zero, aligns with my own values and beliefs. I was highly impressed by the company’s reputation, achievements, and growth potential. Having met the team, it’s apparent that the company employs the best and brightest people, and that the culture and work environment is an extremely good fit for me. I can’t wait to get started.”

Having secured Lauren’s appointment, we are delighted to announce that Richard Dawson will be transitioning to the role of Chief Scientific Officer, a position that sits on the LiNa C-Suite and will see him continue to lead R&D and build the LiNa IP platform through continuous innovation.
