LiNa Energy proud to present to The Prince of Wales

It was an absolute honour to introduce him to members of Team LiNa who had the opportunity to present and discuss LiNa’s pioneering, cobalt and lithium free, low cost, safe, sustainable sodium battery technology.”

The LiNa Energy team was proud to present to The Prince of Wales during a visit to Morecambe today.

 

During a tour of the local area, The Prince of Wales met with community organisations and local businesses. Following a tour of the Winter Gardens, The Prince of Wales met with LiNa Energy founders and staff and was shown a technical demonstration of how the LiNa batteries are manufactured with the presentation showing the batteries sustainability and cost benefits.

 

After an introduction from Dr Gene Lewis, The Prince of Wales heard from Dr Richard Dawson, Founder and CTO of LiNa Energy, who explained where the technology originated and how it spun out of Lancaster University where he taught. Joana Azevedo, Cell Development Manager, who was the first employee of LiNa, explained the how the batteries are manufactured. Will Tope, Commercial Director, presented the commercial application for the new technology and highlighted how LiNa is forming partnerships with customers in target stationary storage markets. Aisha Ford, Finance and People Manager, closed the presentation explaining how important the people are at LiNa and how as a Lancaster company, local ties are embedded in the DNA of the business.
